Fixed Deposit Account

The fixed deposit account promotes a saving culture amongst active members of Usalama society.

  • The product is available for only Members of the SACCO.
  • The minimum fixed deposit is UGX 1,000,000/=
  • No limit on the maximum fixed deposit amount.
  • Fixed deposit account earns 6% per annum.
  • Withdrawals during the fixed deposit period terminate interest to be earned.

Ordinary Savings Account

Every member of Usalama SACCO runs an ordinary savings account as an indication of active membership

  • The account has the following terms

    • Minimum monthly savings is UGX 30,000/=
    • The minimum savings balance is UGX 100,000/=

    The account earns an interest of 6% per annum
    NB: Members’ Spouses and children can now open saving Accounts
    with the SACCO except that they are not yet open to Loan Facilities.

Young Savers Account

The young saver’s account is in place to encourage Parents/Guardians to save some money to be used by the young generation in the future.

The account has the following terms

  • The Parent/Guardian managing a younger savers account should be a member of the SACCO.
  • Submit particulars of the beneficiaries.
  • The membership fee is UGX 10,000/=
  • The minimum savings amount is UGX 30,000/=
  • Interest earned is 6% per annum, distributed on a quarterly basis.
  • No interest is earned if any withdrawal is made before the end of the 3 months period.

About Us

Usalama Savings and Credit Society (Sacco) ltd is a fully registered work-based Society whose mem­bership is composed of ONLY members of staff working for the President’s Office. It was registered with the Registrar of Co-operatives in 2004 under Reg.No.6996. This institution is fully owned, controlled, and used by fully paid-up members. Membership is open and voluntary to all President’s Office staff.
